I came up with this name not because I am making a bold proclamation that the content of this blog is accurate theologically. I aim for that, but like you and everyone else, I have imperfect spiritual insight. Only God illumines. Our role is to be faithful and obedient.
Sound Theology instead was the name of my band that played for a couple of small gigs. Well, one... I can remember clearly. The name was merely a pun on the word 'sound' which connotes music, and 'theology' which reflects my grounding in the Holy Bible.
Since 2005, SoundTheology (yes, the band name had both words connected) has always been on my mind. I started this blog for the band. But ever since our last jam together, we've not done anything musically. Everyone has gone their separate ways, and what remains are a few complete songs, a bunch of half-written ones, nostalgia and this empty blog. So I am reframing this blog and using it to write about my own spiritual journey in the Christian life.
I work closely with youths -- have been doing so in the last sixteen years -- and a lot of my sharing will be skewed towards these experiences. I run an advertising business and am constantly on the go, finding solutions to problems and making sense of the world around me as I earn a living and find satisfaction in work. So part of this blog will regurgitate some insights from that.
Ultimately, this blog is merely a collection my personal testimonies and discoveries. It is written from a Christian perspective. If you are not a Christian, you might not understand the way I see things. Instead, you might find this blog boring, if not offensive (as I would take pains and sensitivity to compare my beliefs with others, and why I share it with others). But I invite you to stay a little longer and maybe, you might catch my drift. And hopefully, we could connect beyond this blog.
